Snakes on a Blog

Happiness I Cannot Shake

Problems are like a fad. Blogging and social networking sites promote it, because it takes less bandwidth, and generates much more ad revenue. 90% of bloggers I’ve seen only talk about their problems. Why should I, or the rest of the world care about what’s wrong in your life? 10 years ago, when only 20% of the USA knew how to use the internet, people had problems, but they got over it somehow. Back in those days, teens had journals and diaries that were meant to be private. Nowadays,  people write to express their feelings on a global scale. I respect friends who can address what goes on in their life in an eloquent and poetic way. It symbolizes their control over the situation and it entertains the reader.

I laugh when people talk about their grief and address people and things indirectly, but close enough that behind it all, the subject of the blog can read it. Is it fear? Is there a pitiful dream that someday, you’d get back at me? When I finally read what you want think, what do you want me to do? Respond?

I’m called a panzy when I don’t respond. It’s not that I’m weak. It’s to show that I just don’t care. Responding to an unimportant monologue of hatred, is letting the enemy win. It is with that mentality of mine, that makes me feel stronger. I don’t have to do anything to make you suffer. Don’t I sound like a jerk?

I see myself as one of the generally happier people in my world. I’m very happy, in every aspect of the word. There’s almost nothing I can’t feel good about, except for that I’m not doing anything better with my time than read what you have to say. I’m in good company, and I’m very grateful for it. I have accomplished much, am striving to do more, and am rest-assured that even better times are to come. I only wish that I can see more people who’d think like this. What’s more entertaining than reading the happy adventures of your day in a blog, instead of dread? Nothing can stop my shining utopia, when I don’t think about the dirt of the earth. That is the Happiness I, nor you Cannot Shake.
